For years, i felt like i was wearing someone else’s life uncomfortable and wrong. R/asktransgender is a subreddit for lgbtqia+ with roughly 185k members. One day, i realized life’s too short not to be myself.

A friend of mine, who knows i’m trans, advised me to just break up with her. Cis people seem to believe trans people are falling all over them and give their opinion, but what about trans people? And i can only tell you that besides transitioning, nothing was ever proven to help with these feelings in the long run. Sitting in a café, they suddenly asked, “why are you trans?” i smiled, stirring my coffee.

So you might have to get over that fear, if you actually want to be a girl/are a girl. It uses a forum format for communication. Should i break up with her without explaining the full reason, or should i try talking to her again—this time being 100% honest—and see what happens? Here might be some hints and resources that could help go towards what you feel you would like step by step and there are also hints there concerning looking for support.

I know a lot of trans people are in favor of t4t for many reasons, but are there some who don't want to date within their own community?
Don't know if you have seen it. Any advice on how to navigate this journey would be greatly appreciated. How did you avoid getting abused? Talking with a few others about what they did, and what helped them may also be an idea.
